# Block model massing to detailed 3D model

> Rough out a form with boxes in Rhino, turn it into a detailed design, then back into a 3D model

Start with a handful of boxes in Rhino to set the composition. An image model turns the massing into a building, a reference photo adds real materials, and image-to-3D brings it back as geometry.

## How it works

1. **Block model view** is a white capture of the boxes.
2. **Convert the block model to a building by Gehry (Nano Banana Pro)** uses a deliberately short prompt, *a building by frank gehry*, and keeps the block model's composition.
3. **Detail it with the reference (Flux 3)** rebuilds that design in the materials of a reference project (Cranbrook Art Museum, from ArchDaily), keeping the form.
4. **Detailed image to 3D model (Tripo H3.1)** converts the detailed image into a 3D model.

## Tips

* Use a reference for its materials, not its form. Say so in the prompt.

## Use your own model

The image input holds a capture from our demo Rhino model, so the workflow runs as it is. To use your own model, open Rhino with the [Runchat plugin](https://docs.runchat.com/plugins/rhino.md) signed in, set up your view, and run the node marked **(optional) Rhino**. Then drag its screenshot into the image input. The scripts use only the standard display modes and match layers or materials by the keywords in their inputs, so they work on any model.
