Clipchat is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that lives in your tray. It records and produces the finished video on your own computer, and uses your Runchat account for the parts that need a model: transcription, understanding what is on screen, and the editing agent.

There is no separate login window. Open the Clipchat viewer and sign in through Runchat in the chat panel on the right. Clipchat remembers you, so this is a one time step. You can check the connection at any time under Tray icon → Settings. Once you are signed in, Clipchat reconnects on its own whenever the app is running.

What uses credits

Because the video is put together on your machine, only text and short extracts are ever uploaded. The full recording stays on your disk. Clipchat keeps a running total for each recording, so you can always see what a particular video cost and why.
Clipchat has no separate subscription. It draws on the same credit balance as the rest of Runchat, so any plan works. See Credits.

Where recordings are stored

Each recording gets its own folder inside Videos/ClipChat, holding the original capture, the transcript and the finished videos. You can change the location under Settings → Recordings folder.
