The Image Editor opens when you click the Open image editor (pencil) icon that appears when hovering an image. Use it to refine generated images, paint masks for edit models, paste in references, sketch annotations, and more.

Layers

The original image loads as a locked base layer, with an empty layer on top for sketching. Hover a layer thumbnail and click the lock icon to lock or unlock it. Select a layer and press delete to remove it. Click Add to add new layers. The opacity slider beneath the layers panel adjusts the transparency of the selected layer. This is especially useful for creating masks.

Pasting images

Press Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V) to paste clipboard content as a new layer. Pasted images can then be moved or scaled with the transform tool.

Transform tool

The transform tool moves and scales the currently selected layer. For sketch layers the entire canvas transforms together. Unlock and select the base layer if you want to move or scale the original image.

Sketching

Pick the brush tool and draw on the image. Change the colour and size from the colour swatch in the toolbar. Use the eraser tool to erase whatever you’ve sketched on the current layer.

Text notes

The text tool adds simple text notes to a layer. Move them around after creating with the transform tool.

Crop

The crop tool reduces the size of the canvas. You can’t increase the canvas size beyond its original dimensions.
